GivHome is designed so local monitoring and control do not require a GivHome account, subscription, Raspberry Pi, Homebridge, Home Assistant, NAS, or GivHome cloud backend.
No tracking SDKs
GivHome does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Local network access
iOS Local Network permission is used to discover and communicate with supported hardware.
Optional integrations
External energy-service integrations are optional and only used when you configure them.
Who publishes GivHome
GivHome is published by Kernowek Consulting. GivHome is a local-first iPhone and iPad app for monitoring and controlling supported GivEnergy inverter and battery systems on your own home network.

Information stored on your device
GivHome may store app settings on your device, including information such as:
- the name you give your site;
- local inverter connection details, such as an IP address or host name;
- system configuration values you enter, such as battery size, inverter power, and solar array size;
- local app preferences;
- diagnostic or compatibility information generated by the app.
This information is stored locally on your device so the app can operate. It is not sent to a GivHome cloud service.
Local network access
GivHome may request Local Network permission from iOS. This permission is used so the app can discover and communicate with supported GivEnergy inverter/battery hardware on your own home network.
Local network communication is used for app features such as setup, telemetry, diagnostics, and local control.
Optional external services
Some versions of GivHome may include optional integration with external energy supplier services, such as Octopus Energy, if you choose to configure them.
Where such features are used, any credentials or account details you enter are used only to provide the requested feature, such as reading tariff or dispatch information. GivHome does not use those details for advertising or tracking.
GivHome does not allow Octopus Energy or any other energy supplier to directly control your inverter. GivHome remains the local control layer.
Local-first does not mean misleadingly absolute. Local inverter monitoring and control are designed to work directly on your home network. Optional features that use an external energy service only operate if you choose to configure them.
Feedback and support
If you choose to contact Kernowek Consulting for support, you may provide information such as your email address, screenshots, diagnostic text, or a description of your issue.
This information is used only to respond to your support request and improve the app.
TestFlight feedback
If you use GivHome through Apple TestFlight, Apple may provide crash reports, screenshots, feedback, installation status, and related beta testing information through App Store Connect.
Apple’s handling of TestFlight information is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
Data sharing
GivHome does not sell your personal data.
GivHome does not share your data with advertisers.
GivHome does not use third-party tracking.
Children
GivHome is not intended for children.
